Before Jesus ascended into heaven he instructed his disciples to make disciples (Matt. 28:19-20). What he meant by this is that they (and every generation of Christians after them) are responsible for baptising believers into the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This act of participation assumes some understanding of the meaning of the Trinity. Furthermore, Jesus wanted us to teach disciples to obey all that he has commanded them. This application of truth for life also needs an understanding of what Jesus taught us. Being a disciple then is to be a follower of Jesus, and a lifelong learner in the truth and the way of Jesus. In this course, we explore the most important teaching of Christianity based on the Bible and read through the lenses of our Confession, The Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689).
